Best Telugu Songs and Albums of July 2015

Telugu Songs

Devi Sri Prasad dominates with his new album, Srimanthudu. While not particularly innovative, a few songs stand out. “Jaago” with Raghu Dixit cements the DSP-Raghu Dixit pair as one of the most exciting composer-singer duos in Telugu music.

    • This year hasn’t been particularly good for Telugu, but to be frank, Telugu music hasn’t seen the innovation and quality on as wide of a scale as Hindi, Tamil, Bengali, Malayalam or Marathi have over the past 2-3 years. However, I do think there have been some good songs over the last 7 months, incl. a couple from Rudramadevi, Jil, Baahubali, Yevade Subramanya, Malli Malli Idi Rani Roju, Dohchay, and Mukunda.

      • Agree. Mickey J Meyer, Sunny MR, Keeravani are the only saving graces of Telugu industry but even they don’t seem to be pushing the envelop that much.

Gopi Sunder gave an amazing soundtrack in Malli Malli, and so did Ghibran for Jil. There’s a lot to learn from the other industries for sure.
